SGL Entertainment has partnered up with R-Squared Films and have signed a deal to release what could be one of the funniest, over the top independent films of the decade “The Hostile Takeover”. The Film was Written and produced by J Davis and directed by Johnny Coughlin and was filmed in the Chicagoland area. The movie will be released later this year on Comcast Cable plus other Television Networks, and will also be available in the US and Canada on DVD via R-Squared Films. The Hostile Takeover is a tale of how an average pizza delivery guy named Jay gets caught in the middle of the largest territorial war in the city of Chicago’s history. As Jay avoids being killed by both sides in this brutal war, he must also prove his innocence to a trigger happy detective who believes he is the catalyst to it all. This hysterical urban comedy was inspired by the J Davis web series called “The MisAdventures of J Davis” which is available to watch on YouTube.

The world premiere of the much anticipated second feature film from Jay Davis “Shots Fired” will be held at the historic Portage Theater in Chicago, on Saturday, May 19th, 2012. This historic theater can seat up to 1,400 people and has a giant screen that will bring this hysterical comedy to you in a larger than life presentation. The Portage Theater was also one of the settings for Johnny Depp’s movie Public Enemies. Shots Fired is an action/comedy about two totally opposite detectives, who are forced to become partners and work the biggest case of their careers. Kevin Payne, an overly aggressive, burned out, thrill-seeker, has cost the city millions in damages as a result of his heroics. Marcus Banks, a weed-smoking, self-hating alcoholic who not only has gotten his captain / uncle reprimanded on several occasions, but his fellow officers shot while on duty. Both of these men have different values and agendas, but they have to somehow coincide in order to solve the murder of world renowned scientist John Mangenelli Sr. Shots Fired is a non-stop action/ comedy that will leave people at the edge of their seats.
Shots Fired is the follow up to The Hostile Takeover which premiered at the Portage Theater April 23rd, 2011. The film was based off of The MisAdventures of J Davis web-series, which became very popular on YouTube. The Hostile Takeover received great reviews and in August of 2011, Jay signed a distribution deal for the film with SGL Entertainment.
